2013.5.12 東平洲 tung ping chau – 海岸生物 journal of coastal lives

人們到東平洲以看石為主,珊瑚為輔。其實東平洲集合郊野公園、地質公園、海岸公園一身。前兩星期到此寶地,當中的海岸生物最惹我興趣。

people visit tung ping chau mostly for its rock and geo features, or coral. But during my visit to the island very north-east of hong kong two weeks back, i was most fascinated by the coastal lives.

Sargassum馬尾藻 sargassum

grapsid crab白紋方蟹 grapsid crab – 雜食,但以石面藻類為主要食物。it is omnivorous, but mainly feed on algae on rocks.

sea anemones海葵 sea anemones – 肉食性。觸手上有毒性刺細胞 it is a carnivore and has tentacles with poisonous stinging cells for prey catching.

sea weed & periwinkles海藻與濱螺 sea weed & periwinkles – very tiny shells. feeding on algae and lichens

Limpets & nerites帽貝和蜑螺 limpets & nerites – *殼像帽,有橢圓狀強壯足部。single non-spiral shell, oval cone-shaped. the foot is very powerful and acts like a sucker  **殼短錐形,寬球狀。素食性。shell short-spired and broad globose. an herbivorous snail.

東平洲海藻床很有價值。tung ping chau has high bio-value algae bed:
