this blog covered bald cypress last year around the same time. these trees are delivering another great show shedding their leaves this year.
cypress and pine usually are evergreen, but bald cypress as another common name suggests is a deciduous cypress. originally the tree maintains an upright, neat and pretty crown in green. when winter matures, it starts turning brown before shedding its feathery leaves. the brown looks particularly attractive in sun rays. the tree seems to glow in golden red. as more and more leaves fall, they laid the surrounding ground an orange brown carpet. and this is not only a visual display, the tree and the fallen leaves are giving out a lovely subtle scent.
一月底，探訪動植物公園，動物園區內、古樹名目有記錄的落羽杉，金棕耀眼，施展迷魂功。they are on the register of old & valuable tree and they surely are no youngster. this winter almost spring, the bald cypresses at the zoological and botanic gardens are firing red and the perfume is so wonderful.
