local media no matter newspaper, tv and online media/ fb groups & pages have been introducing and reporting seasonal flower blooms in different areas in town as hongkongers are having a new craze of flower appreciation/photography lately.
let me divert your attention to other ‘wildlife’ in the city.
what about birding?
people can go real serious and professional about bird watching, but i very much enjoy the easy way as well; don’t even need any special tools like binocular. just go to some less busy city parks or country parks, simply look carefully, at many quiet turns or less exposed corners, many birds are there. don’t miss this particular season, spring, which is the mating season, birds are more active. one lovely sunday late morning, around a densely vegetated slope at the quiet side of the city, i spotted a dozen different species of resident birds within 30 minutes.
