i wrote about water banyan two years ago during its flowering period. now it is its fruit time.
water banyan is a native to hong kong and is commonly seen in the wild where there’s water nearby. it is an evergreen tree. august and september is the fruit season. the berries are so pleasantly looking, round and small with a concave tip. they grew from green to red to deep purplish upon ripening.
if you are not familiar with this plant and want to know more, this is a good time to try spotting it when you are hiking or visiting a country park. or if you want an easy way, there are quite many chinese banyan planted in the wetland park.
