turn-in-the-wind is common in and native to hong kong. it is its flowering season now. you won’t miss it even though there is no bright colour. small yellowish white flowers build dense towers at tips of branches, or flowers in terminal, branched racemes in more technical term.  turn-in-the-wind is dioecious, male and female flowers grow on different trees.

i found the flowering turn-in-the-wind very pleasing. this tree is in small-built, and the bloom is in big intensity almost like explosion, yet the plain colour of the flowers is keeping the situation toned down. the species seems to have a complex personality or should i say “plantality”.
