every autumn people get excited talking about traveling near or far to trace after the dramatic autumn colours. travel brings a lot of fun. but i’d like to remind you my friend that sometimes and many times autumn is around us.
the chinese flame tree, for one, a very commonly planted species in this city, has already lightened up for the season.
check out the adorable rose-coloured tiny “lanterns”. these are the capsules (fruit) of the plant. inside the papery husk, you can find round black seeds. if you want to check out the flowers, remember to check them out earlier next years. blossoms are in yellow.
the photos above were taken at kowloon walled city park. another widely known park to appreciate chinese flame tree in the city is lai chi kok park.
