these few years i would keep looking up when walking along old districts including the one i am living every early summer. the purpose is to look for living swallow nests.
hongkongers are a strange species. it seems that more are caring about nature and environment, yet there are cases reported in recent years that people destroyed bird nests near their home.
so, every time when founding families of barn swallow living under corridor ceiling these summers, i am particularly excited. excited about wild life in the city; also relieved that human being and wild life are still co-existing.
an added note. wondering if these light where the bird nests based at will lit up at night or not? wondering how the light and the heat produced affect these feathery creatures …
