洋金鳳 peacock flower / poinciana (caesalpinia pulcherrima)

洋金鳳的花很漂亮,在香港的公園蠻常見。近日在兵頭花園近遇著這灌木,同時欣賞到花蕾

花開和初果,每樣都美美的,於是在此記錄一筆。

植物來自美洲熱帶、亞熱帶,是加勒比海島國巴巴多斯的國花。這些背景資料似乎隱隱滲透花朵的美豔氣息。

peacock flower originates from the america. but it is commonly planted around the world, hong kong is no exception, as it is such a beautiful plant. you may find them quite easily in parks around the city.

lately i came across this plant with its buds, blossoms and fruit showing altogether. since this blog has not covered it yet, i decided to feature it, this beautiful national flower of barbados.

先說葉,二回羽狀複葉,小葉長橢圓形,不大也不小,排列開來,正好顯示美麗隊形。

the bipinnate leaves, to me who love order and tidiness, is amazingly beautiful. the feathery arrangement with leaflets in the right size are the best presentation of the pretty discipline of oblong shape.

大家對「總狀花序」不認識的話,這裡是清晰真植物展釋。

植物名稱,無論是中文的「金鳳」,或英文中的「孔雀 (peacock flower)」、「天堂鳥 (red bird of paradise)」,將花朵形容得淋漓盡致。五片橙紅色或黃色有長柄花瓣,還吐露出長長深紅花絲,每多花都跟大氣曼舞。

the blossoms’ common names include poinciana, peacock flower, red bird of paradise,  and pride of barbados. all well said.

連莢豆也很有型態美。果的質地有種硬度和厚度,但不失柔軟。而豆的尾圓中帶方。

the plant is in the family of pea. here is the fruit. nice looking oblong and flat pods. here you may also see prickles along its stems, which is one other characteristic of this shrub.

洋金鳳是常綠,而且花期長。大家不妨在公園碰到她們時仔細欣賞。peacock flower is evergreen with long blooming period. go and check them out next time when you visit the parks.
