大口環路上的兩棵榕樹 two handsome fig trees on sandy bay road

容我介紹番: fig trees are so common in hong kong. but actually i haven’t written about these two species before. since i have been attracted by these two handsomes lately, let me spent a little time to introduce them to all. before starting on...

even though it came from australia, paperbark tree is very common in hong kong. thanks to the colonial government which introduced this tree species to the city and wildly planted them around reservoirs, country parks and roadside. among hikers and country park goers, the paperbark forest at shing mun reservoir is one...

incense tree is endemic to china, and has a twinding history with hong kong. today it is a vulnerable species. i encounter this tree twice lately. just like to make a note. three weeks ago, at an arboretum in  sai kung, met with a few big incense trees. happy for them, as they are...

spring colours can be exhilarating. china berry is different. the lilac petals, the blossoms clusters and the fragrance form an aura like a dream. the tree is so recognizable during the flowering and fruiting season. each flower has five petals in lilac, the violet tube in the heart of each...
