銀樺與紅花銀樺 silky oak and red silky oak

have spotted the two silky oaks booming lately. the silky oak and red silky oak are both australian natives. perhaps the latter specifically originated from queensland, it also has a chinese common name queensland silky oak. we see silky oak more in hong kong, so i am making the assumption that it...

the purplish blue plays magic. it was a drizzling morning at aberdeen country park. but once i spotted this young plant, the world light up. this native plant when mature does not bear any resemblance of what we are seeing now. chinese guger-tree or schima is from the tea family, or... 非尋常之春紅 – 大葉欖仁、大花紫薇、楓香 unusual spring colours – bangal almond, queen crape myrtle and sweet gum

this blog hasn’t featured any winter colour this past season. the reason is that we have experienced one of the warmest winters in history. deciduous trees did not shed leaves as their biological clocks were messed up. spring has come long, and some of these trees are finally changing colours lately. is... 心型植物代表:珊瑚藤 a vine with heart-shaped parts: pink coral vine (antigonon leptopus)

coral vine is really pretty when blossoming. the pink 3-d heart-shaped flowers are papery and pleasantly pink. they bloom for many months and never come alone, the flowers always look cheery and appealing. this mexico-native is perennial and having leaves in heart to arrow shape. it is a fast growing plant...
