本城美樹 amazing trees in hong kong】榕樹公公廟細葉榕 chinese banyan & “banyan granny temple”, aberdeen

this small altar is called banyan granny temple. it is not unusual for chinese to worship common items including plants and animals. chinese banyan is more of southern china, and with or without a physical temple, this species plays a major role in village lives and folk culture around this... 【本城美樹 amazing trees in hong kong】水池巷的細葉榕 chinese banyan (ficus microcarpa) at tank lane

it does not make sense not to feature a stonewall tree when talking about beautiful and representative trees in hong kong. but this is not a typical stonewall tree on first glance. to many hongkongers the impression is that the wall would be old and tall built with big... 2017 a walk at mt parker, journal

countryside has become the new hot spot for hongkongers in recent years. people rush to country parks and rural areas over weekends and public holidays. it is more so when weather is good. i started avoiding crowd on blue sky days. last sunday, the sky was grey. i told myself it could be...
