烏墨 jambolan plum (syzygium cumini)

前兩天經過九龍公園,散步曬太陽賞樹,突然在樹籬迷宮側的樹坡看到一個樹牌 「烏墨」 馬上神思飄然,像聞到一陣墨香,又似感受到一個大俠佛然轉身一股風影。 烏墨是常綠喬木,原生於東南亞和南亞。 烏墨較日常的名字叫海南蒲桃,與蒲桃、蓮霧是近親。 當果期來時,烏紫色的果子跌滿一地。很多人會覺得一片狼藉,我卻很欣賞大樹為地面來個潑墨揮筆,不負「烏墨」這名字。 這次未逢果熟時節,細細觀察,看到花和初果。 兩年前記述九龍公園另一角落《海南蒲桃 jambu》,時為九月初,已經果實纍纍,還有果子墜地後的香美圖。加一註,果子雖然多汁,但不是漿果而是核果。 two days back i happened to pass by tsim sha tsui, so i spent extra minutes to check out the century-old chinese banyan along nathan road. couldn’t help worrying these nature treasures of our city are ailing and soon to leave us. sign. then i route... 紫雲木 - 藍花楹 here comes the lavender mist, jacaranda flowering season

花季如浪潮,這潮還未退散,下一波已趕來。 樹頭菜在市區街頭還在黃金吐艷。藍花楹已經將樹身掛滿藍色的花靈。 剛查閱一些台灣的網站,藍花楹有另一俗名 - 紫雲木。覺得此名很貼切香港此樹種。 樹源自南美。看過她們在當地花季的盛況,濃艷奪目。不過此樹在香港,姿態少了豐饒多了秀美。那藍呈灰,幽幽地,像抹抹紫雲。 上星期,到過香港大學探訪荷花池旁的那棵,尚未開花。 怎知過了兩三天,經過維園,樂翻了。大草坪上圍著的數棵藍花楹都開了。 當日天色陰暗,氣氛更美。 欣賞不忘觀察。藍花楹的花與果期本來是分開的。但這幾棵樹都結了不少蒴果,大抵又是氣候和生長環境的變異影響。 spring is always intense for flower lovers. spider trees’ flowers are just turning from white and yellow to golden, jacaranda waste no time splash colour lavender on the plant map of this city. jacaranda is native to south america. perhaps this is why the trees... 筆管榕/雀榕 japanese superb fig (ficus superba var. japonica)

果(花-隱頭花序)期遇到筆管榕,讓人心花怒放。因為這樹一打果,絕不含蓄,一定果實纍纍。 筆管榕果,有短柄,結在樹幹上,雌雄同株。圓形的果有白斑,成熟轉為粉紅或紫紅,很受雀鳥歡迎,所以樹也稱雀榕。 至於筆管由來,《百度百科》說:「每年的四月份換葉,筆管粗的枝條頭部長著紅色的葉苞,如蘸著朱丹的毛筆」。此外,「因其葉是治療油漆和漆樹汁過敏症的良藥,別名『漆娘舅』。」 it is a happy scene during japanese superb figs flowering/fruiting. abundant small spherical “fruit” flourish along the stem and main branches. in case you are not familiar, fig’s inflorescence is hypanthodium, meaning flowers are grown and hidden in spherical receptacles that developed into fruit after fertilization. the fruit has white spots and...
