銀樺與紅花銀樺 silky oak and red silky oak

have spotted the two silky oaks booming lately. the silky oak and red silky oak are both australian natives. perhaps the latter specifically originated from queensland, it also has a chinese common name queensland silky oak. we see silky oak more in hong kong, so i am making the assumption that it... 非尋常之春紅 – 大葉欖仁、大花紫薇、楓香 unusual spring colours – bangal almond, queen crape myrtle and sweet gum

this blog hasn’t featured any winter colour this past season. the reason is that we have experienced one of the warmest winters in history. deciduous trees did not shed leaves as their biological clocks were messed up. spring has come long, and some of these trees are finally changing colours lately. is...

we are lucky. it is not rare for us to see lichen in the countryside. i am particularly fond of this species because first of all the colour and secondly the structure/texture. this orange lichen can be found worldwide and it is a species common in hong kong. i don’t know much...
