貝澳 － 水牛家園及多樣自然生境 pui o, home of many buffalo and a land of great bio-diversity

跟大嶼山不少地方一樣，貝澳從前是種稻米的。耕田就需要牛。於是農民遠道從元朗引入牛隻。也跟大嶼山其他地方一樣，因為建造水塘，原來惠澤農田的天然水源都受人為干擾劫亂了，農民開始棄耕，加上經濟轉型，最後農業枯廢了。 農地丟廢了，對環境生態本有著危機。因為農地無人疏水，大雨可能引發氾濫，然後周圍就會給比較霸道的植物佔領，形成單調的生態。 pui o used to be a thriving village town on the lantau island. there used to be many paddy rice fields here. and buffalos were bought all the way from yuen long to here for farming. but as time changed, economic pattern switched, city life grew, and one lethal injection to farming here...

東平洲自然人文雜錄 tung ping chau may 7 2017

五月初去了一趟東平洲。一個島嶼，滿是寶藏，由最招牌的岩石地貌，到假日遊人如鯽與荒廢民居的對比，還有豐盛的海岸岩岸生境 ...... 簡單的筆記/圖片紀錄： tung ping chau, an island at the very north-east corner of hong kong. it is a treasure island, full of rock wonders and creatures. hope that the increasing number of visitors are not upsetting the nature there. here is a rough record of things i saw in a trip there early may....

2013.5.12 東平洲 tung ping chau – 海岸生物 journal of coastal lives

人們到東平洲以看石為主，珊瑚為輔。其實東平洲集合郊野公園、地質公園、海岸公園一身。前兩星期到此寶地，當中的海岸生物最惹我興趣。 people visit tung ping chau mostly for its rock and geo features, or coral. But during my visit to the island very north-east of hong kong two weeks back, i was most fascinated by the coastal lives. 露兜 pandanus 石珊瑚遺骸 stone coral remains 馬尾藻 sargassum 白紋方蟹 grapsid crab - 雜食，但以石面藻類為主要食物。it is omnivorous, but mainly feed on algae on rocks....
